After the tragic events of 1997, Niku, 23, lives in Tirana. He is to take care of his dad, Kutjim, endlessly sick, and of his mother, Martha, a fabric worker, fired after the application of the « capitalist » reform. Niku is looking for a job. He is an honest and sensitive man. He loves Klara, who, as many Albanian young people, dreams of going abroad, attracted by the luxurious West. Klara keeps thinking that they belong to a lost generation, but Niku, who knows the fate of foreigners in Italy, wants to stay in his country.
