Comment j'ai fêté la fin du monde (Cum mi-am petrecut sfârsiful lumii)
Catalin Mitulescu, Andreea Valean / Roumanie / / Drame / 106 min / 35 mm

Bucharest, 1989 – last year of Ceausescu's dictatorship. Eva, 17, lives with her parents and her 7-year-old brother, Lalalilu. She is very pretty. She is in love for the first time and discovers the pains of teenage years and how complicated adult life is. Eva has a secret dream that only her brother knows : she wants to run away from Romania and travel around the world. Lalalilu is desperate thinking that his sister might leave him. With his two best friends, Tarzan and Silvica, he sets up a plan to kill the dictator, so Eva would stay and live in a free country.
CANNES FILM FESTIVAL 2006 – « Un Certain Regard »official selection, Performance award from Un Certain Regard For Dorothea Petre
"  ...Through Lalalilu's eyes, through his fragility and his successive illnesses, it is privation that we understand. Through his love for his sister, we understand the injustices. Through his desire to save his beloved sister, we discover the naivety of a time, of a generation, convinced that a man on his own – Ceausescu – is responsible for all the pains of a country. However, this generation is too scared to rebel." Eléonore Guerra in Cannes2006.com
